Villasenor eager to challenge the best Strikeforce has to offer

Brazilian Strikeforce middleweight, Joey Villasenor speaks on new contract and competing in May at a yet to be announced Strikeforce event in St. Louis, Missouri.

Villasenor is on a four fight winning streak with the promotion including stoppages over the likes of UFC stars Ryan Jensen and Phil Baroni.

Speaking to, Villasenor said:

“I’m going to be fighting in May it looks like and that’s basically seven months out from my last fight and before that, I was off for a whole year and well, two fights in two years kinda sucks. That is just too inconsistent. I want to be more consistent and feel physically and mentally ready to challenge for the belt and right now, with my inconsistency, I’m not ready, and that’s just how I feel. I’m not ready for that challenge; I’m ready to fight anybody, but I want to get on a roll first, you know, before I feel a lot better to challenge and fight for the belt. But right now, with my inconsistencies, that’s just not my mindset right now, you know.”
