Urijah Faber vs. Eddie Wineland at UFC 128 in Newark, New Jersey

Former champions will meet when, former WEC featherweight king pin, Urijah Faber goes head-to-head with the first crowned WEC bantamweight champion, Eddie Wineland in a bantamweight clash at UFC 128 in Newark, New Jersey on March 19th, 2011. This would bring to an end the rumour of “The California Kid” participating in the next season of “The Ultimate Fighter”.

Faber dropped his featherweight title to Mike Brown back in 2008 and after failing twice to regain it he decided to drop to the bantamweight division earlier this year. He made his 135 pound debut in November, submitting former title contender, Takeya Mizugaki in the very first round.

Wineland is on a four fight winning streak after running through some top talent in the WEC promotion including a devastating slam knockout of promotional newcomer, Ken Stone at WEC 53 earlier this month. He also holds wins over the likes of Will Campuzano, Manny Tapia and George Roop.
