Urijah Faber Backs Out Of Japan Card, Alex Caceres Takes His Place

Urijah Faber has pulled out of his fight against Masanori Kanehara set to take place at UFC Fight Night in Japan on Sept. 20, according to soucrces Alex Caceres will take his place. What injury has caused Faber to step down is unknown at this time.

Caceres won five in a row before falling to Faber by second-round submission in Las Vegas. Kanehara will be making his UFC debut. The Japan native had won six straight before a disqualification loss to Toshiaki Kitada in April.

UFC Fight Night at Saitama Super Arena will be lacking some significant star power now that Faber has baked out. But the main event will feature heavyweight sluggers Roy Nelson and Mark Hunt and an intriguing women’s bantamweight bout between Miesha Tate and debuting Japanese star Rin Nikai have interest. The card will air on UFC Fight Pass.
