UFC 149 Confirmed for Calgary, White Promises “Sick” Card, Jose Aldo Defends

UFC President, Dana White has today confirmed that UFC 149 will indeed take place at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on July 22nd, as well as revealing featherweight champion Jose Aldo will travel up north to defend his title.

The event will take place at the 19,000-seat Scotiabank Saddledome, home to the NHL’s Calgary Flames. The news was confirmed at today’s UFC 149 press conference at Flames Central in downtown Calgary.

Aldo will enter this bout on a fourteen-fight winning streak including wins over Mark Hominick, Kenny Florian and most recently, Chad Mendes. Calgary will mark the fourth Canadian city the octagon has visited.
