Tyler Toner becomes latest fighter to be cut by the UFC

Former WEC featherweight star, Tyler Toner has become the latest fighter to be axed by the UFC, after he came up short against Ian Loveland on “The Ultimate Fighter” season twelve finale show earlier this month.

Toner, speaking via MMADiehards.com, said:

“They said they want me to take a fight in smaller organization and if I get a win they’d have me back. I got rocked pretty good twice in the fight and just felt like my timing wasn’t there. I think with any athlete that’s going to happen, it’s just unfortunate it happened on the night of the fight.”

Toner had gone 1-1 during his stint with the WEC before the switch to the octagon, defeating Brandon Visher while losing to Diego Nunes. He also holds a win over Ricky Johnson during a brief stint with Strikeforce.
