Tom Wright: UFC 140 Most Likely To Be Back In Montreal On December 10th

The UFC Canada director of operations, Tom Wright has today revealed that the Las Vegas based promotion most likely return to Montreal, Quebec, Canada for UFC 140 on December 10th. Speculation will now begin about a possible champion vs. champion welterweight unification fight between current UFC champion, Georges St-Pierre and current Strikeforce champion, Nick Diaz. “Well, I’ve heard about the Nick Diaz-GSP fight, but it is too early (to tell),” Wright said.

Wright, speaking this morning’s via Ringside Report Radio, said:

“Most likely we’ll be back in Montreal on Dec. 10. It would be (UFC) 140. [Dec. 10] is one of several dates we’ve got held. We haven’t made any final decisions, but we’ve been in Montreal on that weekend now – we were there in 2009 and 2010, and it’s certainly in the mix for 2011.

“We haven’t made any final decisions. There are a bunch of different places not only in Canada but in North America that we’re looking at, but we’ve got a great fanbase in Quebec, and Bell Centre is one of the best venues in North America to hold (an event).”

Dave Simon is reporting that GSP is scheduled to return on Dec. 10th in Montreal at the Bell Centre. Most likely against Diaz. If this fight is signed, Diaz will not be fighting Jeff Lacy in a Pro Boxing match. Last night on Facebook, Gracie stated that Diaz would be meeting with UFC President White today.
