UFC welterweight contender, Thiago Alves has revealed he’s set to step back into the octagon at a card set to be announced on May 28th in Las Vegas, Nevada, with his opponent likely to be powerhouse wrestler, Rick Story.
Alves, speaking via his Twitter page, said:
“Just found out I’ll be back inside of the cage in May! Great news to finish the year!”
Heading into UFC 124 earlier this month, Alves had lost back-to-back fights to Georges St-Pierre and Jon Fitch, not to mention failing to make weight on more than one occasion but he returned successfully, pulling off an impressive unanimous decision win over John Howard on the night.
Story is currently on a five-fight winning streak including victories over Brian Foster, Jesse Lennox, Nick Osipczak, Dustin Hazelett and Johny Hendricks. His sole loss inside the octagon came at UFC 99 in his UFC debut, losing via unanimous decision to John Hathaway.
