Tavares vs. Fisher and Cane vs. Nedkov added to UFC in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Two fights have been confirmed for the UFC in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 28th, 2011, a lightweight bout between Brazilian, Thiago Tavares and the always exciting, Spencer Fisher and a light heavyweight bout between hard hitting Brazilian, Luiz Cane and Bulgarian, Stanislav Nedkov. The fights will likely befeatured on the preliminary card portion of the evening.

Tavares will be looking to get back to his winning ways after being knocked out by WEC fighter, Shane Roller last time out. Fisher will also be seeking a win in this one after losing against TUF 9 winner, Ross Pearson losing via unanimous decision.

Cane recently got back to his winning ways, stopping Eliot Marshall in the first round via TKO. Prior to that he had been stopped himself by top rated strikers, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Cyrille Diabate. Nedkov is undefeated at 11-0 in his mixed martial arts career and holds notable wins over the likes of Travis Wiuff and former UFC heavyweight champion, Kevin Randleman during his stint wth Sengoku.
