Shane Nelson Steps In For Antonio McKee, Faces Shinya Aoki At DREAM 17

Well it’s yet another change of opponent for DREAM’s lightweight champion, Shinya Aoki on their May 29th card in Saitama, Japan, it appears former UFC fighter, Shane Nelson will replace MFC champion, Antonio McKee who failed to secure a visa, who originally stepped in for Willamy “Chiquerim” Freire.

Aoki will look to help fans forget about his disgraceful brutal knock out loss to Yuichiro Nagashima at Dynamite!! 2010. He has since competed but in the Strikeforce cage not the DREAM ring, defeating Lyle Beerbohm via first round rear-naked choke earlier this month.

Nelson, who competed on the eighth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” was released by the Las Vegas based promotion after compiling a two-fight losing streak to Aaron Riley and Matt Wiman. He got back to his winning ways with a submission victory over Jai Bradney in Australia at Nitro 2: Throwdown back in March.
