Scott Coker: Paul Daley and Scott Smith line up to challenge champion Diaz

Strikeforce welterweight champion, Nick Diaz won a five-round decision win over bitter rival, K.J. Noons last night in San Jose, California. With the likes of Daley and Smith set to face each other before the year is out, Diaz could have himself another heavy hitter to face next time out inside the cage.

Strikeforce CEO, Scott Coker said:

“Personally, I thought it was going to go up and down maybe a little more than it did, but it just turned out to be a straight stand-up fight and I think Nick proved he can box with the best of them.”

“What we’re going to do is we have the fight with Paul Daley and Scott Smith. I think that is a fight you’re going to have to keep your eye on. As well as Evangelista Cyborg, (he’s) another fighter, and then tonight you saw Tyron Woodley, I’m not saying he’s going to be the next guy, but within the next year you’ll see Tyron get his shot because the guy is unbelievable.”
