Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza vs. Robbie Lawler for middleweight title on Jan 29th

Heavy hitting middleweight vet, Robbie Lawler has been granted a shot at the Strikeforce middleweight title, which is currently risiding around the waist of Brazilian submission master, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, with the two set to meet on January 29th in San Jose, California.

Souza has gone 3-0 since makign his Striekforce debut, defeating the likes of Matt Lindland, Joey Villasenor and Tim Kennedy for the vacant middleweight title. The Brazilian is one of the best in all of MMA on the ground but has worked diligently on improving his stand-up over the past year.

Lawler got back to his winning ways earlier this month when he produced a spectacular knockout against Matt Lindland. Prior to that he’d been all over them place when it came to wins and losses, losing to Jake Shields and Renato “Babalu” Sobral, while defeating Melvin Manhoef.
