Roger Gracie Injured, King Mo Rescheduled, Daley vs. Woodley & St. Preux vs. Cason

Former Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal has been delayed until September after top rated submission specialist, Roger Gracie suffered an injury during training this past week, if Gracie recovers in time he’ll be in line to face Lawal, British heavy hitter, Paul “Semtex” Daley will now face undefeated prospect, Tyron Woodley on July 30th at the Strikeforce event in Chicago, Illinois and Ovince St. Preux and promotional newcomer, Joe Cason will meet at Strikeforce Challengers 17 on July 22nd in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lawal was last seen attempting to defend his Strikeforce light heavyweight title against Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante at in August of last year. Cavalcante beat him on the feet and defended well against the takedown en route to taking the 205-pound title. Gracie looked impressive thus far in his mixed martial arts career including submissions of Trevor Prangley and Kevin Randleman. He is currently 4-0 overall in his MMA career with four submission wins.

Daley is coming off a disappointing first round knockout loss to the champion, Nick Diaz earlier this year, coming close to winning the fight and the title himself before getting stopped late on in the fight. Woodley is one of the front runners for a shot at the recently vacated Strikeforce welterweight title after Nick Diaz jumped ship to challenge UFC champion, Georges St-Pierre later this year. He is currently undefeated at 8-0 overall.

St. Preux has picked up wins over holds wins over Abongo Humphrey, Benji Radach and Antwain Britt in Strikeforce and will be looking to impress his new Zuffa bosses with a win in this one. Cason is currently 9-1 in his professional career and most recently defeated former UFC fighter, Sean Salmon via first round TKO. He has won his last eight fights in a row, primarily on the local Iowa scene.
