Renan Barao vs. Mitch Gagnon At UFC Fight Night In Brazil

Former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao is going up against Mitch Gagnon at UFC Fight Night on Dec. 20 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The bout was announced by the UFC Wednesday night via there twitter account. The card will air live on FOX Sports 1. A UFC official confirmed with FOX Sports that Barao vs. Gagnon will be the co main event.

Barao had one 30 fights before losing the bantamweight title to T.J. Dillashaw at UFC 173 in May. He was set for a rematch with Dillashaw at UFC 177 in August, but an injuy stopped him from fighting. Gagnon has won four in a row, including a first-round submission victory over Roman Salazar earlier this month in Halifax. He’s ranked No. 15 among UFC bantamweight contenders, but has never fought anyone of Barao’s caliber.

UFC Fight Night in Sao Paulo is headlined by a middleweight contender bout between Lyoto Machida and C.B. Dollaway.
