Randy Couture announces his retirement from Mixed Martial Arts… Sort of…

UFC legend, Hall of Famer and five-time champion, Randy Couture has announced his retirement from the sport of mixed martial arts unless he secures fights with either Mauricio “Shogun” Rua or Lyoto Machida.

Randy, speaking via his Facebook/Twitter account, said:

“Appreciate everyone commenting on my fights . I didn’t get the memo that they were being shown I think I’m at the end of it! It’s time to move on and focus on all the other amazing things going on in my life ! It’s time . Thanks R”

Couture, speaking in a text to the L.A. Times earlier today, said:

“I think I’m done. The time is right. I’d fight Machida or Shogun but outside of that, I wanna focus on other things in my life. If [the UFC] offered me Shogun or Machida, I’d take the fight. Otherwise, I think I’m done. [I’m] gonna focus on acting and the businesses.”
