“Rampage” Jackson Turned Down TUF 17 Coaching Spot Against Chael Sonnen

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson turned down the chance to coach the seventeenth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” opposite trash-talking kingpin, Chael Sonnen, leaving the promotion with little or no option but to turn to their current 205 pound champion for the job.

According to both Jackson and UFC president Dana White, the organization offered “Rampage” an opportunity to be a coach opposite Chael Sonnen on TUF 17 before asking Jon Jones. Interestingly enough though, Jackson turned down the opportunity.

Jackson has now set his sights on a rematch with former champion, Forrest Griffin after learning Glover Teixeira has been placed on a six month medical suspension following his UFC 153 win over Fabio Maldonado.
