Paul “Semtex” Daley turned down a January 29th title fight against Nick Diaz

Strikeforce welterweight contender, Paul “Semtex” Daley has revealed he turned down the chance to meet current welterweight champion, Nick Diaz on the January 29th card in San Jose, California, explaining there simply wasn’t enough time for him to prepare.

Daley, speaking via ThisIsNottingham.co.uk, said:

“I was offered the title shot for January. I just thought with Christmas and everything I wouldn’t have time to prepare. I will wait for my chance.”

With that the promotion was forced to turn to Brazilian fighter, Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos. Daley is expected to return to the cage on March 5th when Strikeforce visits Columbus, Ohio for the very first time.
