Patrick Cote signs with Ringside MMA, debuts Mar 25th at the Bell Center in Montreal, QC

Former UFC middleweight title contender, Patrick Cote has signed with Ringside MMA earlier this week and will make his return to the cage on March 25th at the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Many MMA promotions have been hunting the Canadian for his name on their roster including Warrior-1 (W-1), although Ringside MMA eventually won the battle.

Cote was cut by the UFC earlier this year after failing to deliver inside the cage on three seperate occasions. Cote and Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva met at UFC 90 on October 25, 2008. Silva won the first 2 rounds but Cote proved how good his chin was by taking a roundhouse kick and flying knee right on the button without getting rocked in the very first round. In the third round, Cote landed awkwardly on his right leg while throwing a kick, referee Herb Dean declared the fight over when Cote could not continue, ruling the bout a TKO victory for Silva.

“The Predator” returned from his injury after nearly a year and a half and was submitted via rear naked choke in the second round by Alan Belcher after being slammed on his head. Cote’s last fight in the octagon was against Tom Lawlor UFC 121, out-wrestled for all three rounds, he lost 30–27 on all three judges’ cards
