Pat Curran Injured; Roger Huerta vs. Eddie Alvarez at Bellator 33

Well what everyone thought would happen, actually will come true. Former UFC lightweight, Roger Huerta will now face Bellator champion, Eddie Alvarez, this emerges after season two winner, Pat Curran was injured. Huerta will take on the champ at Bellator 33 in Kansas City, Missouri on October 21st, 2010.

Huerta heads into this one after losing to Curran in a shock upset decision loss in the semi-finals of the Bellator season two tournament. Prior to that he defeated Chad Hinton in the first round.

Alvarez is on a five-fight winning streak, with ten wins in his last eleven fights. Wins over Greg Loughran, Eric Reynolds and Toby Imada was him crowned season one winner and has since defeated former UFC fighter, Josh Neer as well.
