NJAC: All 20 fighters at UFC 111 drug tested, all 20 come back clean

The New Jersey Athletic Control Board tested all 20 fighters on the recent UFC 111: St-Pierre vs. Hardy fight card in Newark, N.J., were tested for drugs of abuse and performance enhancing substances.

All twenty fighters tested negative, NJACB representative Nick Lembo said “random blood testing (was) conducted for some contestants prior to the night of the event”.

The commission received high praise prior to the event for picking up on the potentially dangerous brain anomaly that Thiago Alves was suffering from, as well as insisting extensive testing was carried out on heavyweight, Shane Carwin.

The main card at UFC 111 aired March 27, 2010 from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and featured welterweight champion, Georges St-Pierre defending his crown against Dan Hardy, Shane Carwin defeating Frank Mir to become the UFC interim heavyweight championship, also on the main card Jon Fitch defeated Ben Saunders, who replaced the injured Thiago Alves.
