Strikeforce welterweight champion, Nick Diaz will not face disciplinary action from the California State Athletic Commission, only a 60 day medical suspension for his eye laceration following Saturday night’s win over Paul “Semtex” Daley after the fighter appeared to gesture both to the crowd and opponent post-fight.
According to the report, after Diaz defeated Paul Daley Diaz briefly yelled at the audience and then started talking trash to Daley. This prompted action from a CSAC official to go warn the champ and tell him that he will likely face disciplinary action for his outburst. The CSAC executive director George Dodd as well as Strikeforce officials have now confirmed that no disciplinary action will be taken against the welterweight star.
The fighter had made reference to the conversation in a number of post-fight interviews, adding he expected to face some sort of punishment.
