After 11 Years Murilo “Ninja” Rua Retires From The Sport Of Mixed Martial Arts

Following last nights devastating defeat at the hands of BAMMA’s middleweight champion, Tom “Kong” Watson in London, England, Brazilian legend Murilo “Ninja” Rua has decided to hang up his gloves once and for all. Rua had a long and storied career, fighting some of the best in the business over the eleven years he was a professional fighter including Kevin Randleman, Dan Henderson, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Sergei Kharitonov.

Rua, speaking via Twitter, said:

“I would like to announce officially my retirement from PRO MMA fights tonight. It was an amazing run, and its a very tough moment … But there comes a time for all in life, and it’s time to move on. I am proud of all I did in MMA and all experiences I had … I will continue to work with MMA, doing seminars, teaching classes, training fighters, and doing my share to help our sport that I love so much.”
