Mike King Tests Positive For Steroids & Is Suspended For 9 Months

Former Ultimate Fighter 19 competitor Mike King is out for the next nine months after testing positive for steroids on the test for his bout against Cathal Pendred at UFC Fight Night from Dublin, Ireland in July.
UFC officials confirmed this in released on Wednesday.
According to sources King tested positive for nandrolone and is now on a nine-month suspension because of it. Ireland doesn’t have a regulatory athletic commission so the UFC administers the tests as well as the punishment for any positive tests returned.

Heres what was said on his positve drug test:

“He was informed that his positive test violated the UFC Fighter Conduct Policy and Promotional Agreement with Zuffa, LLC. The UFC has a strict, consistent policy against the use of any illegal and/or performance-enhancing drugs, stimulants or masking agents by our athletes. He agreed to serve a 9-month suspension retroactive to the event and must pass a drug test before receiving clearance to compete again,” the statement from the UFC read.

Adding to the punishment King will also have to return his $50,000 ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus that he recievede fight with Pendred. King will serve the suspension while also confirming in a statement that he has been released from the UFC.
