Meisha Tate out of title fight with Marloes Coenen, Liz Carmouche steps in

Top rated 135 pound female fighter, Meisha Tate has been forced to withdraw from her title fight with Marloes Coenen due to a knee injury although Strikeforce have moved quickly to find a replacement.

The promotion have announced that Liz Carmouche will step up to face current divisional champion, Marloes Coenen in the co-main event in Columbus, Ohio on March 5th, with less than two weeks notice.

Carmouche was last seen in action on the Strikeforce Challengers in November, defeating Jan Finney via TKO. Prior to that she’d appeared as an alternate in the one night tournament which saw Meisha Tate crowned number one contender.
