Maximo Blanco Signs Four-Fight Contract with Strikeforce

Exciting Venezuelan lightweight, Maximo Blanco has signed a four-fight deal with Strikeforce, Blanco’s management team, confirmed and he is expected to make his debut shortly.

The former lightweight King of Pancrase hasn’t been seen since Sengoku Raiden Championships in December, defeating South Korea’s, Won Sik Park via unanimous decision, taking his winning streak to six straight. Prior to the decision win he knocked out his last five opponents.

The 27-year-old Blanco, who made his MMA debut in August 2008, won a bronze medal in freestyle wrestling at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. The 8-2-1 fighter moved to Japan in high school and later trained under the tutelage of Olympic judo gold medalist Hidehiko Yoshida.
