Matt Riddle and Francisco Rivera Both Test Positive for Banned Substances Following UFC 149 in Calgary, Alberta

UFC welterweight, Matt Riddle and featherweight, Francisco Rivera both tested positive for banned substances following UFC 149 on July 21st in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, picking up short bans in the process.

Following July’s UFC 149 event, Riddle tested positive for marijuana while Rivera tested positive for an undisclosed over-the-counter stimulant.

Both fighters were suspended for 90 days retroactive to the July 21st event, which makes them eligible to fight on Friday. The results of their respective bouts were not changed. Both fighters declined to appeal their punishments and apologized for their actions.
