The UFC handed out their post-fight performance related bonus awards following last night’s UFC Fight Night 52: Hunt vs. Nelson event in Saitama, Japan, with Mark Hunt, Johnny Case, Kyung Ho Kang and Michinori Tanaka each earning $50,000 bonuses for their performances.
Kang and Tanaka earned the “Fight of the Night,” while Hunt and Case each won “Performance of the Night” honors.
Hunt became the first fighter to knock out Roy Nelson in the UFC. He landed a brutal right uppercut that put Nelson face first on the canvas three minutes into the second round.
Case started slow against Kazuki Tokudome. He turned it on in the second round, landing a right hand that put Tokudome down, then he quickly moved sank in a guillotine choke.
Kang and Tanaka put on a show with a back and forth ground and feet assault. In the end, it was Kang who got the split-decision, handing Tanaka the first loss of his professional career.
