Maiquel Falcao axed by UFC for legal reasons, UFC 134 Tom Lawlor fight off

The UFC have cut fierce middleweight Maiquel Falcao from their roster for “legal reasons” cancelling his UFC 134 bout with Tom Lawlor in the process.

Brazilian MMA new source Tatame Magazine released the following from the fighters manager:

“We’ve received an e-mail from Joe Silva yesterday saying that the UFC decided to end Maiquel Falcão’s contract. They decided to do that because of some legal problems Maiquel got involved recently. … I’m already in talks with other national and international promotions and you will soon watch Maiquel in action again.”

Falcao had been in trouble with the authorities back in 2002 and was charged with assault. He was re-arrested last year after violating his curfew but was soon released and returned to training.
