M-1 Global Champion, Vinny Magalhaes Re-Signs with the UFC, Returns Sept. 1st

World renowned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master and current M-1 Global light heavyweight champion, Vinny Magalhaes has re-signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and will apparently make his return to the octagon at UFC 151 in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 1st, 2012.

The news comes via Tatame Magazine who confirmed the news with a source close to the former “Ultimate Fighter” cast member earlier today.

Magalhaes left the UFC with a 2-4 record after back-to-back losses to Ryan Bader and Eliot Marshall. Since being released from the UFC, Vinny has gone 7-1, winning five fights by submission and two by knockout while dropping one by decision, improving his overall record to 9-5. In his second to last fight he scored a submission victory over Viktor Nemkov to become the M-1 Global light heavyweight champion and then went on to defend the gold with a third round TKO victory over Mikhail Zayats. After a contract dispute with M-1 Global, Magalhaes placed his title belt for sale on eBay with a bid of over $90,000 USD. Before the belt sold though the item was pulled off eBay.
