Kurt Pellegrino and Phillipe Nover Both Sign with Bellator Fighting Championships

Two UFC lightweights have been snatched up by the Bellator Fighting Championship, Kurt Pellegrino has cut his retirement from the sport short and “Ultimate Fighter” season eight runner-up, Phillipe Nover have become the latest lightweights to sign with the up and coming promotion.

The upstart promotion announced it had signed Pellegrino, and that he would debut in November. He will face Patricky “Pitbull” Freire on November 26th in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Nover revealed the news via his Twitter page, explaining he has not only put pen to paper on a contract with Bellator but will also debut on same card as “Batman” taking on Marcin Held.

Pellegrino competed for the UFC over a five-year period, fighting twelve times, going 7-5. He had a four fight winning streak cut short when he lost back-to-back fights to George Sotiropoulos and Gleison Tibau resulting in him stepping away from the sport. Nover was compared to Anderson Silva during his time in the Ultimate Fighter house, after the show he suffered back-to-back defeats following his finale defeat at the hands of Efrain Escudero.
