Jury decides Jeffrey David Kirby is guilty of killing Charles “Mask” Lewis

A jury has today found Jeffrey David Kirby guilty of the death of TapouT co-founder, Charles “Mask” Lewis following an extensive trial in Orange County, California, something that will come as a relief to many throughout the MMA community.

Kriby faces a maximum of thirteen years in prison on one felony count of vehicular manslaughter by unlawful act with gross negligence while intoxicated. That is according to a release issued today by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office with his sentencing taking place on February 4th.

Kriby was speeding his Porsche alongside the Ferrari of Lewis on March 11th, 2009 when he lost control and crashed into Lewis. This caused the Ferrari carrying the man otherwise known as “Mask” to hit a cement light pole and was torn in half.

Kirby fled the scene of the accident, which was witnesses by a Newport Beach Police officer and was later apprehended attempting to ditch his Porsche along with his girlfriend. He was said to be under the influence at the time.
