Jorge Santiago wants a return to the US, planning a move to the UFC or Strikeforce?

Sengoku middleweight champion, Jorge Santiago has revealed he’d like to make a return to fighting in the United States after a prolonged period in Japan, something that will likely put top promotions like the UFC and Strikeforce on red alert.

Santiago, speaking via, said:

“I would love to get back to the United States”

“Every time you go Japan, I know [I have] to make an impressive win because if you go to the judges … it’s going to be hard to get the win if I leave it in their hands. Mindset is everything, and I think it’s what I have the best in my game. That’s what [made] me win, I think.”

“After the [Strikeforce] tournament that I fought in 2007, we finished the contract. I was waiting for the offer, but in the meantime, I had a good offer from Japan. We still talk. I’m just waiting for their call.”

“For now, I am the middleweight champion, and I still want to fight the best middleweights. So wherever they are, I want to go after them, and if it’s possible that the promoters make it happen at Strikeforce or UFC, I’ll be there.”
