Jones vs. Johnson Expected To Headline At UFC 187

It was announced by UFC President Dana White on Wednesday that the UFC is already looking to set a date for the next UFC Light Heavyweight Championship fight between Jon Jones and Anthony Johnson.

Johnson defeated Alexander Gustafsson via first-round TKO at the UFC On FOX 14 event in Stockholm, Sweden last weekend, earning himself a shot for the title against “Bones” Jones later in the year.

White had this to say on the matter:

“We’re looking to do that fight in May, I don’t have the exact date, but May.”

At this point nothing is official, but if Jones-Johnson takes place in May as seemingly planned, the fight will likely serve as the main event for the UFC 187 pay-per-view, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 23rd, likely in Las Vegas, Nevada.
