Jon Fitch vs. Thiago Alves II at UFC 115 in Vancouver

UFC president Dana White announced via Twitter the late addition of a rematch between Thiago Alves (16-6 MMA, 9-3 UFC) and Jon Fitch (22-3 MMA, 12-1 UFC), originally slated for UFC 111, has been rebooked at UFC 115 in Vancouver.

Fitch was expected to finally face Thiago Alves on March 27, 2010 at UFC 111: St.Pierre vs. Hardy, but on March 25, 2010, Alves was forced off the card due to a brain irregularity that appeared on a pre fight CAT scan. Jon Fitch replaced Jake Ellenberger on the card and face Jeet Kune Do fighter Ben Saunders. Fitch went on to win the fight via unanimous decision.

UFC 115 takes place June 12th, 2010 at GM Place, and Alves vs. Fitch II is expected to be part of the main card PPV.

The first two met at Ultimate Fight Night 5 on June 28th, 2006. The event took place at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada and was broadcast live on Spike TV in the United States and Canada.
