John Makdessi Forced Out of UFC on Versus 5 Fight wth Paul Taylor

Canadian striker, John Makdessi has picked up an injury during training, forcing him out of his UFC on Versus 5 bout with Paul Taylor in Milwaukee on August 14th, 2011. Various sources close to the fighter have indicated that an undisclosed injury is to blame although his manager was unavailable for comment. It is unclear whether the promotion will seek oout a replacement for Taylor to face.

Makdessi is undefeated at 9-0 in his mixed martial arts career and has already picked up back-to-back wins inside the octagon over Pat Audinwood and Kyle Watson.

Taylor rescued his octagon career when he defeated Gabe Ruediger at UFC 126 in February, stopping former TUF cast member with a head kick. Prior to that he’d been on a run of losses that almost seen him cut from the roster altogether.
