UFC colour commentator, Joe Rogan revealed that former WEC lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis will get the first shot at Benson Henderson’s UFC lightweight title.
Rogan heard conversations between UFC owners, Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta at octagon-side following Pettis’ spectacular head-kick knockout win over Joe Lauzon which kicked off the UFC 144 pay-per-view card. “Showtime” was next in line for the title no matter who won in the main event of the evening.
Henderson and Pettis squared off in the last ever WEC fight in the promotions history back in December 2009 with Pettis walking away with the championship after five hard rounds and a “Showtime” kick.
