Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg to announce WEC 48 PPV, WEC “Prelims” to air on SpikeTV

On April 24th, The World Extreme Cagefighting will host their first-ever pay-per-view event, WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber goes down in the Arco Arena, April 24th in Sacramento, California.

Zuffa are bringing in the big guns for the PPV debut, longtime UFC broadcast team Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg will fill in for Todd Harris and Stephan Bonnar for a night of championship fights.

Today, UFC president Dana White also announced that the WEC would air a pair of preliminary bouts on Spike TV. Leonard Garcia (13-5-1 MMA, 3-2-1 WEC) vs. Chan Sung Jung (10-1 MMA, 0-0 WEC) and Alex Karalexis (10-4 MMA, 4-2 WEC) vs. Anthony Pettis (8-1 MMA, 2-1 WEC)l take place during a one-hour special on Spike TV prior to the event.

The main event at WEC 48 features featherweight champion Jose “Junior” Aldo as he defends his title against “The California Kid” Urijah Faber.

The co-main event features newly-crowned lightweight champion Ben “Smooth” Henderson as he defends against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

Mike Brown will also return as fights Manny “Pitbull” Gamburyan.
