Jason High released from the UFC after one outing

Welterweight Jason High (9-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) signed a four-fight deal with the UFC in February. After just one fight in the Octagon he has officially been released.

High, speaking via his Twitter page, said:

“Received my UFC walking papers today. One door closes another opens. … You know how the saying goes.”

High lost a unanimous decision to fellow UFC newcomer Charlie Brenneman (11-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 21: Florian vs. Gomi, this past March in North Carolina.
