James Irvin tests positive for steroids following Tachi Palace Fights 7 bout in December

Former UFC light heavyweight, James Irvin has reportedly tested positive for an anabolic steroid following his loss back in December to Jorge Oliveira at Tachi Palace Fights 7.

According to Sherdog.com Irvin tested positive for Epitrenbolone, also known as Trenbolone Metabolite. This drug is normally used on livestock to increase appetite and muscle growth.

This is not the first time the “Sandman” has tested positive for steroids, picking up a twelve month ban after losing to Anderson Silva back in 2008. He returned to the octagon and dropped to 185 pounds where he was promptly stopped by Alessio Sakara, ultimately losing his spot on the UFC roster.
