Welterweight up-and-comer, Jake Ellenberger will step in for the injured Brian Foster against Sean Pierson at UFC 129 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on April 30th, 2011. The promotion revealed the news tonight via UFC.com, adding verbal agreements are both in place.
Ellenberger is on a three fight winning streak and was last seen in action on the UFC 126 card, defeating Carlos Eduardo Rocha via split decision. Prior to that he’d picked up back-to-back stoppage wins over Mike Pyle and John Howard.
Pierson made his octagon debut just last month, dominating former TUF cast member, Matt Riddle via unanimous decision at UFC 124 in Montreal and winning. Foster submitted the ever tough Matt Brown at UFC 123 one month earlier, as well as picking up a “Knockout of the Night” bonus against Forrest Petz in September.
