Injury forces Mackens Semerzier off WEC 48 card, Chad Mendes steps in

Mackens Semerzier has been forced to withdraw from his WEC 48 preliminary fight due to an undisclosed injury.

Semerzier posted news of his injury on Facebook earlier today and WEC officials also confirmed the news.

Semerzier (5-1 MMA, 1-1 WEC) was set to face Anthony Morrison (15-8 MMA, 0-1 WEC) at the promotions first ever PPV event; WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber on April 24th at ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California.

Chad Mendes (6-0 MMA, 1-0 WEC) has agreed to step up and face Anthony Morrison (15-8 MMA, 0-1 WEC) on the evening’s preliminary card.
