George Roop signs a new five-fight deal with UFC, despite recent knockout loss

UFC featherweight, George Roop has signed a brand new five-fight deal with the Las Vegas based promotion despite picking his first round TKO loss at UFN 23: Fight for the Troops 2 against Mark Hominick.

Sources close to the fighters camp revealed the news today, saying the deal had been done at the same time the fighter signed to face Josh Grispi on “The Ultimate Fighter” season thirteen finale in June.

Roop had previously competed for the UFC following his own run on the TUF reality show, losing to Shane Nelson and George Sotiropolous in the lightweight division, but did pick up a split decision win over Dave Kaplan before departing for his new home in the WEC.
