Gegard Mousasi signs two year-four fight contract extension with Strikeforce

Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi (28-2-1 MMA, 2-0 SF) signed a two year-four fight contract extension Thursday night.

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker confirmed the new deal today less than a month after Mousasi hinted at a new long-term contract with Strikeforce.

Mousasi will defend his light heavyweight crown Saturday in the co-main event bout against Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal at “Strikeforce: Nashville,” which will air live on CBS.

“I’m being treated very well,” he told MMAjunkie. “I feel like I’m a part of the family, so there’s no reason for me to go anywhere else. I fight also in DREAM, so I don’t have any desires to go anywhere.”
