Gabriel Gonzaga Returns to Face Ednaldo Oliveira at UFC 142 in Rio de Janeiro

Former UFC heavyweight title contender, Gabriel Gonzaga will return to the octagon to replace the injured Rob Broughton when he faces newcomer Ednaldo Oliveira at UFC 142 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on January 14th, 2012.

Gonzaga’s manager and trainer Marco Alvan confirmed the news saying his fighter signed a new four-fight deal with the UFC.

Gonzaga was cut from the UFC ranks after losing a unanimous decision to Brendan Schaub at UFC 121. He then retired before coming back to the fight scene to defeat Parker Porter via third round submission.

Gonzaga will have his hands full with the 6’7″ Oliveira, the Brazilian is currently undefeated at 13-0-1-1 with eight of those wins coming by way of knockout.
