Frank Mir Granted Exception For Testosterone Replacement Therapy

Former UFC heavyweight champion, Frank Mir has been granted a TUE exception for testosterone replacement therapy before his UFC 169 Pay-Per-View clash with Alistair Overeem set for this weekend in Newark, New Jersey.

Mir confirmed the news today to sources. A representative of the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board did not immediately respond to requests for confirmation.

Right now Mir is on a three-fight losing streak, the first of his mixed martial arts career. He was defeated by Junior dos Santos when the Brazilian was champion before being outpointed by Daniel Cormier. He was most recently knocked out by Josh Barnett at UFC 164 in August.
