Fedor Emelianenko vs. Satoshi Ishii Confirmed for DREAM’s New Year’s Eve

Former number one ranked heavyweight in the world, Fedor Emelianenko will indeed meet Olympic Judo gold medalist, Satoshi Ishii at DREAM’s New Years Eve event at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Officials from the Japanese based promotion revealed the news earlier today.

Fedor finally got back on track with a win over former UFC heavyweight title contender, Jeff Monson via unanimous decision. Prior to that he lost three in a row to Fabricio Werdum, Antonio “Big Foot” Silva and Dan Henderson.

Ishii won the judo gold medal at the Olympic games in 2008. He is 4-1-1 and has defeating Ikuhisa Minowa and Jerome Le Banner. He lost his very first MMA fight to Japanese MMA legend, Hidehiko Yoshida.
