Dustin Hazelett latest fighter released from UFC following third straight loss

UFC lightweight submission specialist, Dustin Hazelett has been the latest fighter to be axed by the UFC this week following a third straight defeat inside the octagon.

The news comes via a source close to the fighter earlier today and it is unclear at this time whether the promotion will leave the door open for a return should he pick up a couple of wins.

Hazelett got his UFC career off with a bang, defeating Diego Saraiva, Stevie Lynch and Jonathan Goulet. After losing to Josh Koscheck he tapped out Josh Burkman and Tamdan McCrory before suffering a series of serious injuries. Upon his return the lost to Paul Daley, Rick Story and Mark Bocek, with each of them finishing him inside the distance.
