DREAM to postpone the light heavyweight Grand Prix

The Japanese promotion, DREAM will cancel their light heavyweight Grand Prix for now, which was to begin on May 29th.

The tournament was set to feature former UFC and PRIDE star, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and former Strikeforce light heavyweight champions, Gegard Mousasi and Renato “Babalu” Sobral.

Representatives from Fighting and Entertainment Group (FEG) today told MMAmania.com that DREAM 14 will continue as planned and that the promotion has removed the light heavyweight grand prix in order to restructure the format of the tournament for a later date.

DREAM 14 Fight Card:

170 lbs.: Nick Diaz vs. Hayato Sakurai
145 lbs.: Joachim Hansen vs. Hiroyuki Takaya
145 lbs.: Akiyo Nishiura vs. Hideo Tokoro
155 lbs.: Kazuyuki Miyata vs. Takafumi Otsuka
