“Cowboy” on Pettis Fight: “They keep telling us to be ready for mid-January”

UFC lightweight contender, Donald Cerrone speaks about his potential showdown with Anthony Pettis, a bout that was originally set for TUF 17, explaining the UFC keep telling the fighters to be ready for mid-January.

Cerrone, speaking via Bleacher Report, said:

“Nothing’s set, they just keep telling us, mid-January, end of January, be ready for January. You know January will be a quicker opportunity to fight, if we were doing the show it (the fight) would have been delayed until June or July.”

Cerrone has won eight of his last nine fights inside the octagon and is on a two-fight winning streak including victories over Jeremy Stephens and a double “Fight Night” bonus award win over Melvin Guillard.
