Despite loss, Mario Miranda signs a new four-fight deal with the UFC

UFC middleweight, Mario Miranda has inked a new four-fight deal with the promotion this past week despite coming up short the last time we saw him in action.

Miranda made his professional MMA debut in 2006 and has fought primarily in the U.S. northwest. Previous victories include current UFC fighter Rick Story, former UFC fighter Joe Vedepo, and one-time Strikeforce fighters Mike Hayes and Chad Vance.

Originally, Mario tried out for the The Ultimate Fighter 11 but, in February 2010, the UFC announced they had signed Miranda to a contract. He made his debut for the organization against Gerald Harris at UFC Fight Night: Florian vs. Gomi, losing for the first time in his career by TKO in the first round. Miranda then faced MMA vet, David Loiseau at UFC 115 winning the fight via TKO in the second round. Most recently Miranda faced Demian Maia at UFC 118, losing the fight via unanimous decision.
