DEEP 48 IMPACT: Parky returns! Otsuka vs. Matsumoto featherweight title fight

Four additional fights have been added to the July 3rd DEEP 48 IMPACT event at Differ Ariake in Tokyo, Japan.

Two-time DREAM participant Takafumi Otsuka will make a quick return following his razor close decision loss to Kazuyuki Miyata in the white cage to defend his DEEP Featherweight title against Koichiro Matsumoto. Matsumoto used to be a Lightweight but after losing to Katsunori Kikuno in a title fight he dropped down to Featherweight where he has gone 3-0.

The other three announced bouts are all Japan vs. Korea fights. GRABAKA’s Eiji Ishikawa will take on a man who has come up several times on this blog in the past in A Sol Kwon, Future King Yutaka Ueda will battle In Suk Oh, and Masato Kataoka will face good Korean wrestler Gil Young Bok, who lost by DQ in his first MMA fight. Very nice fights.

The DEEP 48 IMPACT opponent of the returning Parky has been announced and it’s veteran Ryuki Ueyama. This will be Parky’s first fight back since losing to Kuniyoshi Hironaka because of an eye injury in a fight he was winning in the white cage in DREAM. It seems like his eye has finally healed and with a victory in this fight a DEEP Lightweight title fight with champion Katsunori Kikuno will be in in sight.
